Cinnamon Chocolate Sauce

I have no idea where this came from originally. I got it on a hand-written recipe card long ago. It's one of those quick and easy dessert sauces that doesn't use a lot of ingredients, need any thickening agents, or take a long time to cook.

Cinnamon Chocolate Sauce
Preparation Time: ~ 10 minutes

Ingredients
2 squares baker's chocolate* chopped into small pieces
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar (I usually cut this to an 1/8)
1/4 cup milk or cream
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions
1. Combine chocolate, water, and sugar in a heavy bottomed pan. Slowly bring to a boil stirring constantly. Be careful not to over cook it and burn the melting chocolate.

2. Once the chocolate is melted add the milk and cinnamon and stir to blend. The sauce will be fairly liquid.

3. Serve over whatever you'd like. I'd suggest fresh fruit like apples or bananas.

*I like unsweetened but any other type of baker's chocolate will work. It just depends on how sweet you want the sauce. Roughly 2 oz. of chocolate chips could be substituted.

Do you know whether soy milk would work here instead of the dairy? (I'm guessing it might be too thin.) Someone I'd like to make this for can't eat dairy.
