This is sometimes called harvest salad, so I think it fits nicely with the fall theme. Very simple, but I think it's worth sharing.

Necessary food stuffs:
salad greens (see note)
small-medium apple (any kind)
lemon wedge
chunk of cheddar cheese about 1" x 2" (or however much you want)
about 1/8 - 1/4 cup nuts and seeds (see note 2)
about 1/8 - 1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup canola oil
1/8 cup rice wine or apple cider vinegar
pinch of fresh or dried dill

Slice your apple into quarters and remove the core with a pairing knife. Slice thin and put in a small bowl. Squeeze lemon wedge over apple and toss the apples in the lemon juice (to prevent browning). Cut cheddar cheese into 1/2" cubes. Fill your salad bowl with greens and add apple, cheese, seeds, and cranberries. Mix oil, vinegar, and dill and add to salad. Toss.

Enjoy. :)

Note: I recommend mixed baby greens, baby spinach, or red leaf lettuce. Romaine will work but it's a good idea to cut the ribs out. This is a delicate salad, so choose your lettuce accordingly.

Note 2: Any or all of the following will work (well, maybe not all unless you really like nuts and seeds) walnuts, pecans, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds
