I'm right there with you, not going to lie. Usually, I make the bread to go in things, or to be added to soups. Otherwise I end up staring at the damned thing going, "You are just not as tasty as I hoped you'd be." The gluten free pantry french bread's one of the few mixes I actually vaguely like and it took a while to grow on me.
(Partially because my sister brought home the sandwich bread mix, made it without telling me and let older sister watch the oven. When she handed the bread to me, I didn't have the heart to tell her that it was still raw at points. Kind of soured my affection for the bread for a while.)
