Yes, it's a broiler sans oven. I actually have a large broiler that's many. many decades old, which I'm a bit afraid to try using since it used to spark when initially plugged in even back in the day. Also I recently discovered in the house a small electrical appliance which has a burner on one side and a little grill/broiler on the other. I haven't experimented with that side yet!
The suggestion sounds like a good one. I bought broccoli over a week ago, and I'd better do something with it - fast.
