Lost Recipe :*(

I've been collecting the Better Homes and Gardens Christmas Cookie magazine since the early 1980's. Got my favorite cookie recipe from it.  Sadly, due to a computer crash, I lost the recipe and haven't been able to locate it again.  It was a shortbread type crust that was wrapped around a 1/2 tsp or so of honey macerated dried fruit and nuts.  Then the whole cookie was rolled in coconut and nuts and baked.  I think they were called Honey Nuggets.  If any one happens to have this recipe I would be eternally grateful for a copy.

UPDATE:  After countless hours of searching I've been unable to locate this recipe so I came up with my own version.

Honey Nuggets

Fillings:

Option One:
¼ c. candied cherries, minced
¼ c. golden raisins
¼ c. dried apricots, minced
¼ c. dried blueberries
¼ c. dried sweetened cranberries
¼ c. dried apples, minced
¼ c. coconut
¼ c. walnuts, chopped
½ c. honey

Mix all ingredients in a plastic storage bowl, cover and set aside over night to blend the flavors. Store in pantry and turn twice a week to coat fruit in honey.

Option Two
¼ c. chopped dried mango
1/4 c. chopped dried papaya
¼ c. glace cherries
¼ c. dried pineapple
¼ c. coconut
1 tbsp. minced candied ginger
¼ c. macadamia, chopped
½ tsp. Orange zest
½ c. honey

Mix all ingredients in a plastic storage bowl, cover and set aside over night to blend the flavors. Store in pantry and turn twice a week to coat fruit in honey.

Cookie dough

2 cups all-purpose flour
  1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  1 large egg
 3 tablespoons milk
 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Coating

½ c. shredded coconut
½ c. chopped nuts

Directions
PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Grease baking sheet.

COMBINE flour, granulated sugar in large bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

COMBINE egg, milk and vanilla extract in small bowl; mix well. Add to flour mixture; stir with fork just until moistened. Form a ball with dough; divide dough in half. Cover; refrigerate for about 1 hour or until dough becomes easy to handle.

ROLL each half of dough on floured surface to 12 x 6-inch rectangle. Cut circles. Spoon 1 tsp. Filling into the center of each circle. Carefully enclose the filling, pressing out the air. Roll gently into a ball and roll cookie in coconut/ nut mixture.  Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Place cookies 1 inch apart and bake at 350 for 15- 18 minutes until golden brown. ( watch to make sure coconut and nuts don’t burn. )  Cool completely before attempting to eat as the honey filling can scald.

I have a 70's or 80's BH&G cookie cookbook sitting at home, I think. If no one else can find it, reply to this and let me know. I'll see if there's anything in it that looks like that. The description sounds vaguely familiar.
