Honey Orange Tofu with Daikon
Jun. 4th, 2009 12:06 amToday I threw together a bunch of random things and it turned out really well, so I though I'd share the recipe.
Measurements are approximate as I wasn't actually measuring anything when I made this.
Honey Orange Tofu with Daikon
Ingredients:
1 package extra firm tofu
1 large daikon
1 cup broccoli florets
1 small white onion
juice of 1 orange
4 cloves garlic
1/8 cup honey
1 tsp shiro dashi
1/2 tbp crushed red pepper
1 dash freshly ground black pepper
3 tbps water
Peel daikon and cut in half. Chop one half into small sticks. Slice the other half and set aside.
Slice garlic and onion.
Cut tofu into 1" cubes.
Put everything but the tofu and broccoli into a skillet or wok. Simmer over medium heat 3 - 5 minutes.
Add tofu and broccoli. Cook until tofu is golden brown.
While the tofu is cooking, take the sliced half of daikon and steam it in a bamboo steamer.
Serve with rice.
