I'm going small this year and only having 4 friends over for dinner. Mainly because my dining table is so small and I don't have room for a bigger one in this...cozy and quaint...flat I have. The joy of living in Denmark is that I could serve peanut butter and jelly, call it tradition, and they'd believe me :)
Hors D'Oevres: Spinach rolls with spiced salami (Real easy: on your favorite kind of tortilla, layer fresh spinach leaves, goat cheese and salami. Roll it up, slice it up, and layer on a plate.)
Stuffed Olives (Big green olives with garlic, bacon and a little roasted red pepper.)
Salad: Green tossed salad with baked strawberries, roasted pine nuts and honey mustard dressing
(Rinse and hull strawberries, then put them top down on a baking sheet. Bake at 125 for 10-15 minutes. Cool before tossing in the salad. The dressing is: 3Tbsp honey, 3Tbsp stone ground mustard, 1tsp coarse ground black pepper, a pinch of sea salt, 4 Tbsp EOO, 1tsp rosemary)
Main Course: Roasted turkey with apple onion stuffing
My favorite stuffing
Baked carrots with olive oil and thyme
Milk free, but still creamy mashed potatoes
From the berry cranberry sauce
Green bean casserole, my way
Fresh baked garlic rolls
Dessert: Fresh from the pumpkin pie
Cherry pie
Brownie bites with Bailey's frosting
If you're like me and (insanely enough) don't really enjoy leftovers, have your guests bring tupperware. That way they can all take leftovers home and you don't risk losing containers. This is mandatory with my guests at Thanksgiving.
